The ground search for a missing Kelowna senior has been paused.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) said in a public post that both they and the RCMP will “continue to gather information” about Allan Francescutti.

The 79-year-old was last seen on April 16.

Search crews said over the weekend that they made “good progress” while searching in the Dee Lake area, where Francescutti’s vehicle was found last week.

COSAR said the search will resume “once we have further leads.”

The group also said that it “fully expects to have another large mutual aid turnout on the weekend.”

It added: “So far volunteer searchers have put in more than 1,000 hours combing the area around Dee Lake.

“If you have game cameras along any roads in the Aberdeen plateau, please check them for signs of Mr Francescutti.”
