The Flower Power garden tour on Saturday, June 15th is much more than an ordinary garden tour. In addition to 9 beautiful gardens complete with friendly dogs, chickens and a few horses this tour is designed to surprise and thrill ticket holders. Stunning xeriscape gardens, a greenhouse overflowing with fresh produce, amazing outdoor living spaces, a silent auction and an art show - this tour offers so much more.

Ken Salvail of AM1150 ‘The Garden Show’; Gwen Steele, Xeriscape guru and the Okanagan Master Gardeners are on hand to answer questions, solve a plant mystery and to help you get more out of the tour.

Talented Heather Fowler of Fowler Interior Design and Tina Knooihuizen of Home at Last Interiors have added their design talents to the tour by staging beautiful tablescapes and backyard scenes at select homes. Artists and musicians are also scattered among the gardens along with wine tasting from Calona Wines and Squeezed Wines along with tastings from Urban Distilleries and Crescendo Oils.

Touring gardens can make you hungry and Chef Planiden’s Culinary Adventures and his mobile kitchen are serving up delicious snacks and lunch treats including a Garden Wrap, a Pulled Pork Sandwich and Free-Range Butter Chicken with jasmine rice.

Random surprise draws for gift certificates from Orchard Park will be made throughout the day for lucky tour guests and even the Flower Power tour ticket includes special discount offers at various garden shops, restaurants and local businesses for ticket holders.

The Flower Power garden tour is this Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 – 4:00 pm and tickets are still available at Bylands, Art Knapp, Green & Bear It, The Greenery, Dogwood Nursery, and Rick’s Garden World. Tickets are $35 with proceeds to Ballet Kelowna.
