Kelowna’s Ben Klick is a self-styled “guitar pickin' country gentleman”. The talented musician, who also builds instruments, released his debut EP about a year ago - back in May 2014 - and continues to gain fans in Kelowna and further afield with his talent, enthusiastic good cheer and crowd pleasing shows.

The teenager (Ben is still just 19 years old!) is influenced by the likes of Great Big Sea, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. Despite his youth, Ben has already received a 2013 Kelowna Civic and Community Award nomination, and won a 2014 Okanagan Arts Award and the 2015 Global Country Star Search in Edmonton. Now, he’s hoping to win his another accolade.

Ben has made it through to the provincial top three of a contest which offers him the chance to play alongside some of the nation’s major artists during Country Music Week 2015. Only one artist from each Canadian province will make it through to an online vote, where one winner will be selected to play at CMW 2015.

Ben is currently competing with two other British Columbian artists for the chance to represent BC in the national voting round, and he needs Kelowna’s help. Voting opened on May 26th, and runs until 4pm on June 9th. You can vote for Ben (one vote per 24 hours) HERE.

You can check out more of Ben’s music HERE. Playing solo or with his band, Ben Klick’s band mates are Darrin Cherewayko (drums), Cyril Schermann (bass), Ben Beveridge (fiddle). Each is gifted in their own right.

I'll leave the final word to Roo Phelps, Morning Co-host and Music Director at Kelowna’s Country 100.7 FM, “In my line of work I listen to hundreds of songs per week, so believe me when I say it takes a lot to stop me in my tracks. Ben Klick did just that. Ben possesses a talent for guitar that would be wowing at any age. There is no doubt in my mind that Ben Klick has the talent and the passion to take his music career anywhere he'd like it to go.”

You can find Ben Klick, and keep tabs on his journey, via his official website.
