It used to be somewhat tough to eat out as a vegetarian. Now, most restaurants offer vegetarian and even vegan options, so patrons can rest easy knowing that no animals were harmed in the making of their food.

Gold: The Naked Cafe
The Naked Cafe is a plant-based restaurant in downtown Kelowna. Their mission is to “serve delicious, affordable vegan food that makes animals and humans equally happy”.
Offering familiar favourites with healthy and vegan twists, The Naked Cafe has a menu that appeals to vegans and vegetarians alike. And with items like BBQ Pulled Pork Sammy, Grilled Cheez and Bakon Cheezburgers on the menu, even non-veggies who are wanting to give the whole plant-based thing a shot are sure to find something they’ll enjoy!
Silver: The Chopped Leaf
The Chopped Leaf is a franchise restaurant that specializes in healthy salads, wraps, soups and sandwiches. Patrons love the options to customize their meal, with protein options including vegetarian alternatives like tofu, quinoa or eggs.
Many of the options on the menu, like the Bowl No. 1 and the Southwest Wrap, include ingredients like beans or chickpeas which means you can skip the meat but still get some protein.
Bronze: Mad Mango Cafe
Mad Mango Cafe has truly become a staple in the downtown Kelowna food scene. The “hole-in-the-wall”, family owned restaurant serves delicious Malaysian inspired food, and offers vegetarian options for almost every item on the menu.
