Silver - El Taquero
What started out as taco nights for friends has turned into a multi-time Best of Kelowna winner.
The owner, Izzy, decided to open this unique and inviting restaurant in 2015 after spending years sharing the flavours of his hometown, Mexico City, with his friends while hosting taco nights.
El Taquerol offers are inspired by traditional Mexican street-side taco stands, and incorporate many of Izzy’s family recipes. You’re not going to find these high standards in flavour and technique anywhere else in town.
Their menu represents a mosaic of regions and flavours, blending traditional Mexican flavours with fan-requested dishes.
Pair any of their delicious tacos with a freshly shaken margarita and you have a great night on your hands.

Gold - Hector's Casa Authentic Mexican Cuisine
Our gold medal winner has won Best Mexican Restaurant for eight years straight, and what else would you expect from a locally owned, family-run, 100% authentic restaurant!?
Anyone who’s been to Hector’s Casa won’t be surprised they took the gold again this year, but if you haven’t had the pleasure of trying out one of their amazing menu items you’re in for a treat.
The eatery has been an established Kelowna restaurant since 1999, originally created by Hector and his wife Laurie.
After 20 years of proudly serving the community, in 2019 they sold the restaurant to Mario and Martha, a Mexican couple born and raised in the central Pacific coast of Mexico.
Hector’s Casa serves a variety of authentic Mexican meals, desserts and of course, next-level margaritas.
