Sure, you can hook up your iPhone or pop in a CD to play music in your car, but there’s something about the intimacy of local radio that keeps us coming back.

All three recipients of this year’s Best of Kelowna awards are great examples of why that’s true.

People around the Okanagan will tune into these three morning shows to help start their day on the best possible note.

Whether you enjoy the top 40 tunes, a little bit of country or some good old fashioned rock and roll, the chances are high that you tune into one of these morning shows during your daily commute.

GOLD - B-Mack and Karly (99.9 Sun FM)

Brian McCune, otherwise known B-Mack, has been on-air at Sun FM for a number of years, working his way from the swing announcer position into the coveted morning show slot. He was joined by Karly Fiddes in the spring of 2016 and the pair have been waking up Kelownians ever since. A popular and energetic morning show, this is the second year in a row they’ve claimed gold in Best of Kelowna.

SILVER - The Casey Clarke Show (New Country 100.7)

Although New Country 100.7 is based out of Penticton, it’s listened to all throughout the Okanagan Valley and is consistently one of Kelowna’s top rated radio stations. A big part of that is Casey Clarke, who has been a household name in country radio for two decades. While his primary show is the morning show on New Country 100.7, The Casey Clarke Show is syndicated to 55 stations across Canada. The show last won Best of Kelowna gold in 2016.

BRONZE - David and Tony (K96.3)

You got a bit of pop and bit of country, so how about a couple of good old fashioned rockers claiming the final Best of Kelowna on-air personality award of 2018. David and Tony have been a staple in Kelowna’s radio world for many years and give many rock fans an enjoyable ride to work in the morning. They’re also two of the more recognizable faces in Kelowna radio, as you’ll find them out and about in the community at many events and concerts.

Other nominees in this category include:

Bob & Bob (Power 104), Rick Webber (Global Okanagan), Daniel O'Hara (AM1150), Andy & T.J. (101.5 EZ Rock), Kylee Roman (Sun FM), Phil Johnson (AM1150) and Chris Walker (CBC Radio)
