Sweet Tomas is looking for a furever home!

Tomas is in the care of Paws It Forward, a non-profit dog rescue based in the Okanagan.

This 1-year-old Shepherd mix has been in their care since May 2023.

At about 55-60lbs, Tomas is a tall boy and stands about two feet tall at the shoulders.

He has mastered the "big stretch" and would appreciate you telling him he's a good boy every time he does.

He can be reactive while on leash, but is great with other dogs. He hangs out at a doggy daycare in Kelowna called Bark 'n Fly once or twice a week, and has become quite the social butterfly.

Although he has fun playing with other dogs, other dogs can sometimes find him to be a little too much. Because of that, Tomas is working on controlling his excitable energy.

Because he can be powerful on leash as well, an experienced handler will be needed to help teach him good manners.

While Tomas hasn't had regular encounters with children, he has been amazing with young kids the few times he's met them.

Tomas probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats as he sometimes forgets what personal space means.

“Unless the kitty puts Tomas in his place… then he might get the hint,” says Paws It Forward.

Other things to know about Tomas:

  1. He is potty trained
  2. He loves his kennel
  3. He has a hilarious personality
  4. His favourite foods include carrots, red peppers and cucumbers
  5. He is prone to car sickness
  6. He loves attention and snuggles!

This affectionate boy is ready to settle down with a family who will give him the love and attention he deserves!

Apply with Paws It Forward today to meet Tomas!
