What’s another way to say thankful?

Gracious. Gratified. Full of thanks. To give thanks. Appreciate. Love. Indebted. Contented. Pleased. Grateful.

These words each give you some kind of feeling or thought inside your mind when you say them. Each of you are going to have your own connection to what it means to be grateful for something, for someone. It’s personal. It’s unique. Just like you.

This weekend is Thanksgiving. I often wonder why we need a weekend to be grateful, but wow, am I ever thankful for these long weekend days. I also wonder if we can work towards feeling grateful in the entirety of our life, but am I ever thankful to take the time to reflect on who and what I love during these days.

Creating an undercurrent of undying gratefulness can be the catalyst to new realities, to new understandings of your surroundings, and can shift your view of the very things you may take for granted.

Taking the time to reflect on what you’re grateful for will give you perspective on the little things that pop up and challenge you. It has to be intentional at first. You have to take the time to look at your life then write about it. Share it on a blog for the whole world, or in a journal just for you, but you have to do something with it.

When you are crystal clear on what you are thankful for and who you are glad to have in your life, it will become habitual. Being grateful will be part of your character. Then, you will see more of it show up for you. Positivity equals more positivity. Thanks equals more thanks.

On the other hand, have you stopped this weekend to give thanks to yourself? To be grateful for your body and for your beautiful mind? Did you ever think that maybe someone is grateful for your presence in their life? I will go on record and say that each one of you reading this has at least one person in your life that is SO unbelievably grateful for you. Remember that.

This weekend, I am grateful for my man who holds the mirror up to show me the ways in which I can be both powerful and vulnerable, who loves my wildness and who makes a mean french press coffee.

I am grateful for my family who has stuck by my side through thick and thin and thick again.

I am grateful for all the places I get to share my work with amazing human beings who are open and willing to look into their own lives for more greatness. We all have it in us. We are all hardwired in some capacity to be grateful, to give thanks, and to be kind. We do. You do. So do. Be with your loved ones and go to the places you love!
