Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. - Lao Tzu

In this column I talk a lot about your overall mindset and the thoughts that you think. I haven't touched too much on the words that come out of your mouth, which are just as important and usually supersede your mindset and thoughts, so here we are.

Your words are the way you communicate with the world, they help make sense of what's happening around you and how you let others know how you feel. Your language is how you converse with others, it's how you show that you understand and it’s how you try to shed light on the things that don't make sense.

Besides your actions, your words are the most powerful things you have control over. Words are that much more powerful when you understand the weight they carry, especially in the way you speak about situations that challenge you. It's really easy to get carried away with words when you speak during circumstances that aren't positive in life. You might even be in one of those circumstances right now and you may already recognize the way you've previously spoken about it has continued to shape your view of that circumstance.

Your words directly impact the way you perceive your life. Without a doubt, it's more work to create different language and use your words to help mould a positive perception, after all we are operating the software of our brain that is wired to keep us safe. We have an innate way of being in which we operate from, known as "fight or flight." We come up against something that threatens us and we either fight it or instinctively run away from it. This opens the door of understanding that we have another choice outside of instinct.

As we evolve we continue to grow, we grow physically and mentally and if we take charge of the words that constantly come out of our mouth we can change our reality. We can literally talk another way of being into our existence. It comes from awareness, it comes from consistency, it comes from commitment to a better life and it comes from you. Watch your words and watch your life change.

Big love and even bigger hugs,

Roz
