Trail: Okanagan Lake Lookout Loop, Predator Ridge.

Trail Distance: 3km

Trail Difficulty: Easy with moderate sections

Directions:

Located in Predator Ridge, right before Vernon. Heading north on Hwy 97, turn left on Bailey Road. At the stop sign turn left onto Commonage Road. Turn right onto Predator Ridge Drive. Follow along through the Predator Ridge Resort and turn right onto Birdie Lake Drive. You can park in an appropriate area anywhere here, or continue up towards Sparkling Hills. We parked on the left side of the roundabout, beside the trail map.

Description:

If you find yourself in the Predator Ridge area, a short hike along the Okanagan Lake Lookout Loop Trail is worth a stop! With easy access and fantastic views, it's perfect for everyone!

From where we parked, the trail starts as a wide paved pathway. Following along heading south, we soon passed Sparkling Pond and headed right to start the trail for the Okanagan Lake Lookout Loop. The trail turned to a wide gravel path with a bit of washout from all the rain we've been having. After a decent uphill climb, we soon came to a fork in the trail. Left is a short path that takes you to a lookout with a picnic bench, but we headed right to follow the marked natural trail to a ridge. The views just kept getting better, looking over the Okanagan Lake and towards Terrace Mountain on the other side of the lake!

As we continued on the trail, we could soon see amazing views of the Ridge Golf Course, overlooking a few of the fairways, and it got me really excited to plan a trip back! With 24km of trails, two golf courses and a spa, there's something to keep every part of the family entertained!

Remember to always be mindful of your surroundings, pack out what you pack in, stick to the trails and Happy Exploring!
