Eye Tasty Food is an authentic Ethiopian food truck owned and operated by delightful husband-and-wife team, Yimmer Mulat and Eye Rusalem. The food truck is located in the parking lot in the same centre as Marshall Home Living Centre and Tom Harris TELUS Cellular in Bank’s Centre on Highway 97. When I say authentic, I really mean Ethiopian authentic. Everything is made from scratch including all their dough and sauce products. I sampled several of their specialty items at lunch, including their specialty lentil and potato Sambusa, which are similar to a Samosa; beet salad (Gluten free); potato chips (Gluten Free); Ethiopian flat bread; and a wonderful pasty, which is their traditional Ethiopian large bun with cumin, fried in sunflower oil. The Ethiopian flat bread takes three days to make as it takes three days to ferment. All the dishes were more than generous, so as you can imagine, I took a to-go container home with food. Ethiopian tradition is to use their fingers to eat and most of their food can be eaten with just your fingers, but they do supply utensils. Eye Tasty food has an extensive menu that also offers wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and pasta. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They offer Door Dash, Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats. www.eyetastyfood.com
