Sweet Cloud Ice Cream Rolls is a mobile food truck that makes the most unique handmade ice cream rolls. Owned and operated by Paulina MacKenzie, the idea of the ice cream rolls came from Paulina and her husband visiting Thailand, where ice cream rolls are popular. Making the ice cream rolls is definitely an art, and watching Paulina is truly a delight, as she forms and scrapes together the rolls on a huge round cold metal platter with an AC system cooler underneath. Ice Cream Rolls come in a variety of flavours. You choose your flavour, topping, and sauce, with a base of dairy, coconut milk or vanilla flavour. Sweet Cloud offers both dairy and gluten free options. I sampled the strawberry and Nutella with granola, chocolate and whipped cream. It was delicious. Sweet Cloud’s main location starting in July will be at Knox Mountain Park. Check out their Facebook at Sweet Cloud Ice Cream Rolls and Instagram at Sweetcloud49. You can’t miss the bright aqua blue food truck.

Pollinator gardens have now been planted at Cameron Park and Sarsons Beach Park by the Kelowna Rotary Clubs. The purpose of these gardens is to attract bees, butterflies and birds to our city. Residents are encouraged to plant some pollinator flowers and shrubs in their gardens also to help increase the number of bees which have been on the decline in Kelowna. Other public areas are also being considered including Jo-Anna’s House and some school yards. It is our hope to provide a highway of bees through BC and Washington State.
