Another major music festival is coming to British Columbia.

Brand Live, the event production company responsible for the Squamish Valley Music Festival and the Honda Celebration of Light, have announced the creation of Skookum Festival.

The inaugural Skookum Festival will be held from September 7th-9th, 2018 in Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park.

“Witness an eclectic mix of today’s best contemporary music, live art, sculpture and multi-media installations while taking in the vibrant coastal atmosphere just minutes from downtown Vancouver,” says the description on the festival’s website.

“Complemented by remarkable culinary dishes from some of Vancouver’s most notable chefs and restaurateurs with premium BC wines, local craft distilleries and breweries, Skookum will evolve the festival experience and establish a new standard for creative expression in one of the most spectacular locations in the world.”

For the festival’s first year, the 17-acre Brockton Field venue in Stanley Park will have a capacity of 20,000 attendees per day.

The performances will be spread out across multiple stages.

The artists that will bring those stages to life will be announced by Brand Live in the spring of 2018.
