The Kelowna Rockets blanked the Kamloops Blazers 5-0 at Prospera Place in the first of six pre-season games. Jackson Whistle stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Rockets net as the team scored twice in the first period and added three more goals in the second to earn the win.

Rourke Chartier was one of the veterans on the ice with the prospects.

The Rockets sat many of their regular players to have a look at seven new skaters. Prospect Jordan Borstmayer scored once in his debut. Veterans Riley Stadel, Dalton Yorke, Cole Linaker and Joe Gatenby all added singles.

Kris Schmidli and Austin Glover chipped in with two helpers each.

The Rockets continue the WHL preseason on Sunday in Vancouver as they travel to play the Giants.

Dan Lambert books the win in his first pre-season game as the Rockets head coach.

Kelowna has one more home exhibition game Sept. 13 against the Royals before opening the WHL regular season at Prospera Place Sept. 20 vs. Kamloops.
