Okanagan Organizations Awarded by PGA of BC

A number of Okanagan organizations have been honoured by the PGA of BC as awards were handed out for excellence in the golf industry.

The Harvest Golf Club was awarded with Golf Shop of the Year in Richmond during a special ceremony. Teacher of the Year went to Clay Stothers, Class A Professional at the Okanagan Golf Club, and Junior Golf Leader of the Year was presented to Peter Hopley, Executive Professional at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf and Country Club. Apprentice of the Year went to Brodie Carle at Predator Ridge Golf Course who is a candidate for membership.

A total of 16 awards were given out by the PGA of BC including golf professional of the year, player of the year, and coach of the year. The Golf Facility of the Year went to Seymour Golf and Country Club. Two recipients of the PGA of BC scholarship and bursary program were also announced during the ceremony, each accompanied by $1,000. The Jim Gibson Scholarship went to Casey Johnson of Copper Point Golf Club and the Forestar Golf Community Leadership Bursary to Jeff Palmer at Olympic View Golf Club.
