When the weather is as unpleasant as it has been, it becomes almost impossible to leave your house! You just want to stay sitting by the fire in comfy pj’s. Dressing for this weather, comfortably, doesn't have to be difficult. You can stay cozy while still wearing those trendy pieces.
Wearing neutrals, as you know, is what I live by. What I love the most about neutrals is playing with shades, textures and most of all, wearing entirely the same colour.
Whether it's all grey, browns, whites or blacks, these shades have always been a favourite of mine. All grey is definitely at the top of my list.
The key for this monochromatic look is playing with shades and textures. I have everything from a simple grey hat, a thick casual, cozy sweater, a faux fur coat, grey denim and leather booties. I also played with the silhouette to add dimension to my look. Wearing a thinner, slim fitting pant is a must when wearing boxier, thicker pieces on top. This balance is needed throughout the look so you don’t get that ‘frumpy’ feeling we all dislike. The booties are a slim fit as well, to not add any extra bulkiness.
Wearing all one colour is a great way to show off your style and have fun utilizing different textures in your looks. Love the colour blue? Play with shades of navy. This look is not only great for having those cozy days, but also extremely acceptable to dress it up for the office or your next girl’s night out!
