Showing off your winter bootie

From the blistering cold to sunshine slush, lately, trying to dress in this weather has been atrocious, especially in the footwear department. I've been living in Hunter boots to keep my feet dry and to prevent the high snow from trickling its way to the soles of my feet. Don't get me wrong, I love Hunter boots, but there are definitely days where I need a little cuter and more fashion forward of a shoe to get me from point A to B, without always clunking around like a farm girl in rubber boots.

In the summer, I shared with you my favourite way to show off your ‘summer bootie’. There's commonly one shoe a season I just die over and have to share with my readers on how amazing it is. This year, it's the high bootie. It’s exactly same as your regular bootie, it just sits up higher on your calf - pretty straight forward right? These boots are also a bit more of a statement than the classic black bootie you may own, however, they are still an easy transition without going too much out of your comfort zone.

The countless ways to style these booties also make them a great investment piece for this season. They pair effortlessly with skinny jeans, and if you're looking for that fall to winter to spring transitional look (which I will touch on later), this bootie is perfect to pair with a casual dress or skirt. Suede would look impeccable (hint hint).

For this look, I stuck with a classic black denim, black turtleneck and added a statement necklace. You all know how I love my statement pieces!

I've been loving the high cut booties lately, and especially for the snowy weather. It gives my ankles that extra protection from getting my feet covered in snow! If you’re really into following trends, the sock and sandal heel trend is still in full force, so try pairing a long sock over your jeans to add some extra height to those booties!
