Beer and food is an obvious pairing for summer fun, but what about craft beer brewed right in the heart of downtown, and funky fresh Asian fusion made from scratch? CrAsian Food Truck and BNA Brewing have decided to pair up to do just that all summer long.

Every Thursday, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. you can now find the CrAsian truck parked right outside the BNA Tasting Room! This means you'll be able to enjoy BNA's crisp brews with the exciting flavours of the CrAsian food truck right outside their door, and believe me when I say there are exciting flavours galore!

There has been an increasing trend of breweries and food trucks teaming up in Kelowna and B.C. as a whole. Seeing as many breweries don't have kitchens in which to make their own food, and most food trucks don't serve liquor, it's mutually beneficial to pair up.

The food truck can come to the brewery to serve up delicious food, and the brewery will supply the awesome beers. There's no doubt that this pairing is a major people-pleaser. Food trucks these days create exciting, innovative and fresh food that people will literally line up for hours to try, and craft breweries draw in both beer-aficionados and beer-newbies like a magnet.

With the variety, the affordable prices and the casual atmosphere that is created, what's not to love?! This style of dining seems to be taking over the food industry, with more and more food trucks and craft breweries/cideries popping up everywhere.

BNA & CrAsian make a seriously dynamic duo for the summer. While you're sitting on the patio or in the quirky, cozy BNA Tasting Room, you can look forward to indulging in all the CrAsian faves, and sipping on your BNA brews in a tasting flight or pint.

CrAsian makes their signature Asian-fusion snacks and meals, and they definitely "give your taste buds something to go crazy over" with faves like Sriracha fries (which are loaded up with spicy Sriracha, garlic, mayo, and cilantro), salad rolls and the CrAsian Burger.

Everything on the menu features foods you know and love but with "an Asian flavour and flair." It pairs excellently with the BNA brews, too. BNA carefully crafts all their beer from scratch, on site and with a flavour profile for everyone.

Here are a few pairings the experts at BNA recommend!

CrAsian Fish Tacos

Tempura battered fish, Asian slaw, crunchy noodles, cilantro and sriracha mayo.

Pair it with: Pamela – Belgian Blonde Ale

Crisp and refreshing. Makrut Lime zest & leaf add a subtle yet present citrus characteristic that would complement the cilantro and the lightness of the fish, while pleasantly contrasting the deep-fried element of the dish.

Thai Burger

Peanut sauce, bacon, lettuce, grilled pineapple and cilantro.

Pair it with: Earl – Pale Ale

Pork and pale ales traditionally pair well together, so the bacon element of this dish will be highlighted by the beer, and vice versa. Earl has enough flavour to stand up to the strong ones of the burger, without competing with them. The pineapple will be well complemented by the tea in the beer.

Grilled Kimcheese

Grilled cheese with a fried egg, kimchi and fish sauce mayo.

Pair it with: Don’t lose your dinosaur – IPA

Any strong cheese typically needs a bold beer to keep with the flavour level. The bitterness should cut the fattiness of the egg and the mayo nicely as well.

BNA celebrates their second birthday today, Thursday June 1st, and you can find the CrAsian Food Truck there along with some other awesome local vendors. If you can't make it today, there are 13 more Thursdays for you to #treatyoself this summer!
