Sustainable Development Challenge Grand Finale
Join us on February 26 for the Sustainable Development Challenge Grand Finale! This annual event brings the community together to inspire, entertain and give young active citizens a platform to have their voices heard.
During the day, 8 teams compete, with the top 3 moving on to the Grand Finale event. With sustainability at the core, students will pitch their ideas to expert judges in creative and dynamic ways, all for the chance to win $5000 to fund their project. Thanks to The Rotary Club of Kelowna for sponsoring the grand prize! Thank you as well to Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association for the runner-up prize of $1,500!
Chief Christopher Derickson will be speaking on sustainability in the Valley, and Councillor Loyal Wooldridge will be our Master of Ceremonies. Stay tuned for more entertainment details!
This event is brought to you in partnership with JCI Kelowna, Global Citizen Events and the Global Empowerment Coalition of the Central Okanagan (GECCO).
NOW is the Time Sustainability Fair will proceed the event from 5-7pm. We encourage you to arrive early as the fair will showcase innovative and sustainable solutions to challenges facing the Okanagan from the perspectives of local governments, NGOs, the private sector, academia and other stakeholders.
