Art of Dr. Seuss West Coast Travelling Show
Art Lovers Welcomes “The Cat Behind the Hat”
Art Lovers Gallery is expanding to a new location in the heart of Kelowna’s cultural district to host an international exhibition of painting and sculpture on loan this summer from the estate of the iconic Dr. Seuss.
“The Cat Behind the Hat” is a travelling exhibition of Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss).
The exhibition features over 40 rare and collectable artworks including selections from his popular children’s books, and from his rarely-seen ‘Secret Art’. Art Lovers is western Canada’s only authorized representative of the “The Art of Dr. Seuss”.
The exhibit opens to the public on Saturday, July 11 and
continues until September 7th. Reservations are available between 11:00 am to 4:00 pm daily through the “Book Tour” tab @ www.artlovers.ca. Gallery occupancy is limited to 3 groups at a time, spaced at 15-minute intervals. COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
Gallery owners DJ Block and David Church provide a guided tour of the exhibit in a series of video clips that visitors watch on their own devices as they move through the Gallery’s viewing stations. An outdoor vantage point will be available to allow enthusiasts to enjoy the artwork at any time, without a reservation.
“We are proud to share this inspiring collection with our community and with visitors,” said DJ Block. “The art of Dr. Seuss speaks to all generations about joyfulness and enthusiasm despite all of life’s challenges.
As we slowly emerge from our COVID isolation, let us take you into a world of whimsical stories and surreal artwork.
