Rd, Kelowna, BC V1Y 4X8, Canada About the Event Serenade for Haiti Did you miss the spring screening of this beautiful and impactful film? With the recent political unrest in Haiti, this film is more timely than ever. Too often viewed as a "throw away" country in modern times, Haiti was once the jewel of the Caribbean, and France's most lucrative colony during slavery and colonial rule. The Black African slaves overthrew their oppressors winning their freedom and independence from France, starting a chain of global events whose impact is felt to this day, centuries later. This strong spirit, fierce independence, and pride continues to this day. Serenade for Haiti tells a modern story of transcendence and great humanity as the children and faculty of the Sainte Trinité Music School turn to music to unlock the power of their own lives. All proceeds support our Winter Campaign - Meals for Minds! and the health initiatives of our co-presenting organization, Canadian Partners 4 Haiti. Tickets: $15 in advance $20 at the door. Doors open 6:30, screening starts at 7:00pm. Our Haitian Marketplace will also be on display - Haitian metalwork art, jewelry, our greeting cards, and more. Cash and credit card payment options available. Discover Haiti. Be Inspired.
