Community of Reddit users are assisting the U.S. National Park Service authorities in finding the young woman who has been defacing National Parks.

New Yorker, Casey Nocket, has allegedly been drawing images on rock faces throughout a number of national parks in the States. The images were apparently posted on a variety of her social media platforms however, after severe criticism from nature enthusiasts, the social media sites were taken down.

The website, Modern Hiker, cataloged some of Nocket's Instagram posts before the sites were deactivated.

A statement was released from the National Park Service on Wednesday addressing the recent reports on vandalism in at least ten national parks in Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, and Utah.

“While we can't discuss details of a case under investigation, we take the issue of vandalism seriously. National parks exist to preserve and protect our nation's natural, cultural, and historic heritage for both current and future generations. Vandalism is a violation of the law and it also damages and sometimes destroys often irreplaceable treasures that belong to all Americans,” read the statement.

In response to Nocket's “work,” the Reddit community has provoked some buzz around the incidents and hopes to see the young woman brought to justice.

The Reddit user, Steve Yu—claiming to be an investigator for the Yosemite National Park, has taken to the social networking site in order to draw attention to the defacing issue and hopefully source out some helpful tips on the case.

The title of the post is, "Graffiti 'artist' with no regard for her actions leaves her 'art' on the Vernal Falls stock trail."

“I'm not sure about the best way to go about this as this is my first case I've worked off of Reddit, but if folks can send what they've grabbed to my e-mail, that would be great,” read the post. “Thanks to all who have reached out to me, I appreciate your concern and your efforts. Please remember, everyone in our society has the right to Due Process.”

The social networking and entertainment website provides a platform for community members to submit interesting content for discussion.

According to the National Park Service, the following parks were affected: Yosemite National Park, Death Valley National Park, Crater Lake National Park, Zion National Park, and Canyonlands National Park.

Authorities are awaiting confirmation from Grand Canyon National Park, Sequoia King National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Bryce National Park.
