The U.S. Department of Defense recently launched a rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and the picture captured by the launch is probably the best part about the project.

An Atlas V rocket carrying the U.S. Navy's mobile User Objective System, a tactical satellite system which is expected to improve ground communication for U.S. forces on the move, launched into outer-space on January 20th.

Leaving behind a light trail, this rocket made for one epic photo.

The NASA website is also full of really cool and interesting photos that delve into the mystifying world of a galaxy far beyond ours.

The famous Horsehead nebula was captured from NASA's Spitzer Space telescope.

Radiating bright blues, greens, and reds, this photo of the sun is absolutely stunning. Shot in high-energy X-Rays, one could only imagine what it would be like to see this magnificent beauty from space.

The monster of them all: the great black hole, was captured by NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic telescope. It's safe to say that very few people would be keen on discovering what awaits them on the other side of a black hole, but at least they have an air of elegance and beauty about them.
