A new survey of B.C.’s leisure travellers has recognized Okanagan attractions as some of the “best places” in the province.

The survey by Insights West asked travellers to pick the “best places” in B.C. from a list of 69 destinations, attractions, and landmarks. Our area’s delicious wine and sweeping views put Okanagan wineries at 6th place, being picked by 25 per cent of travellers. The cool and scenic Okanagan Lake was 10th with 20 per cent.

The number one attraction was Stanley Park with 39 per cent, followed by Tofino with 38 per cent and Granville Island at 27 per cent.

“British Columbia’s leisure travellers have a hard time selecting a favourite destination from the many appealing attractions their province has to offer,” says Mario Canseco, Vice President, Public Affairs, at Insights West. “Still, Stanley Park and Tofino were regarded by about two-in-five respondents as visits that cannot be missed.”
