A semi-truck has caught fire on the Coquihalla Highway and is causing slowdowns just past the Great Bear Snowshed.

According to motorists passing the scene, the truck was heading eastbound on the highway and was pulled over in the far right lane. DriveBC says they are aware of the incident and have a contractor on the way to deal with the situation.

The right lane is blocked just past the Coquihalla Summit as crews deal with the remains of the burned out truck. There’s no word yet as to how the fire started or if there are any injuries.
