If you didn’t already know, Friday and Saturday are Fill Your Own Cup Day at 7-eleven.

This is the fourth year that the convenience store has put on this promotion, which allows people to fill up their own containers with a delicious slurpee.

People pay a flat fee of $1.50 to fill things like tupperwares, blenders and toy buckets with a colourful mix of different flavours.

To celebrate the annual event, KelownaNow hit up the 7-eleven on Bernard Avenue and Gordon Drive to fill up a giant, wine-glass looking container that was sitting around the office.

It was slightly bigger than the normal size allowance, so we agreed to pay for two slurpees and began filling the bad boy up.

Due to weight and having to tilt the container to fill it up, we weren’t able to get it quite full, but the damage was definitely done.

We brought the giant slurpee back to the KelownaNow office for everyone to share, and now we’re just waiting on the inevitable office-wide sugar crash.

The entire process was documented on our Instagram Story, which you can also view on our YouTube below.
