The Okanagan is home to many wineries with some pretty heavenly vino to offer.

It can be difficult to pick where you want to visit, which is why we’ve put together a list of some of the most beautiful and unique experiences you can get around Penticton.

Ruby Blues Winery

Open: May to the end of October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Address: 917 Naramata Rd

First on the list is Ruby Blues Winery. The winery opened as Ruby Tuesday Winery in 2008, and quickly grew in popularity as a fun, quirky place to enjoy fine wine.

Not only is their location stunning, complete with a painted Volkswagen bus named Daisy that you’ll see all over Instagram, but they are also a four-time winner of the Lieutenant Governor Award of Excellence, as well as a host of other awards.

And don’t forget to bring your camera!

Red Rooster Winery

Open: May through October 9th:  10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
October 10th: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Address: 891 Naramata Rd.

There’s only one thing to do when it’s too hot out to handle: sit down and smile over Chef Darin’s crab apple croquettes and a chilled bottle of Chardonnay. #redroosterwine

Red Rooster Winery sits above Okanagan Lake, among the rolling hills. This winery offers inspiring views, quality wine, and an offbeat approach.

You’ll get great wine and great service, but with a twist. Red Rooster boasts a wine experience that is”a short detour from the expected,” with one-of-a-kind art pieces like Frank the Baggage Handler. Frank graces the lawn of the winery, and is known for turning heads.

This won’t come as a surprise, but Frank’s not really into the whole “new year, new you” thing. He thinks he’s perfect just the way he is. #redroosterwine

Painted Rock

Open: Daily from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Address: 400 Smythe Drive

Who else is dreaming of long, warm summer days? I am craving this sun right now as I sit bundled up inside with remnants of the last snowfall on the ground. #sipokfalls #bcwine #paintedrockwinery

Envisioned as a legacy family business, Painted Rock has undeniably stunning views and atmosphere, and they take their environmental impact very seriously.

Their wines are produced exclusively from fruit grown on their single estate vineyard, located on the eastern bench of Skaha Lake in Penticton. The vineyard has been sustainably farmed since the end of 2010, so no pesticides are used. They also use eco-glass and solar power.

Perseus Winery

Open: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday until October 15th.

Address: 134 Lower Bench Rd

This stellar winery is named after the constellation that hovers over their estate vineyard during harvest. Perseus is situated in a repurposed house built in the early 1950s. The bright, open concept layout, unique details, and award-winning wines make this winery an experience you have to add to your spring/summer bucket list.

Do we have a case of this left from our library sale? Maybe.... send us an e pigeon to find out.
