If there’s one thing that British Columbia knows, it’s good wine.
That was clearly evident at the recent All Canadian Wine Championships, which critique wines from all across the nation.
B.C. wines cleaned up at the awards, taking home 341 of a possible 492 awards, including four of the five major trophies.
It was quite the year for Wild Goose Vineyards in Okanagan Falls, taking home two of those major trophies.
They won both Best Red Wine of the Year for their 2016 Red Horizon Meritage, as well as Best White Wine of the Year for their 2017 Gewürztraminer.
Also taking home major trophies was Maan Farms Winery in Abbotsford for their 2016 Raspberry Dessert, which won Best Fruit Wine of the Year.
Ruby Blues Winery in Naramata was also awarded a trophy for their 2017 Peace & Love & Bubbles (Best Sparkling Wine of the Year).
Behind B.C.’s 341 awards, Ontario was the second most successful province with 99 winning wines, followed by Quebec at 22.
