Kelowna vegans rejoice, it’s about to get a little bit easier to get your sans dairy fix as Naked Cafe is officially opening a second location.

Naked Cafe Express will be opening at 2009 Enterprise Way where you can get grab-and-go coffee and vegan food.

The three sisters behind Naked Cafe, Olivia, Teghan, and Tessa Gordey, signed their lease for the new location yesterday, and are ecstatic about this next step for their growing business.

“We are honestly too excited, it feels surreal. We can't even believe the support we have gotten from the community up until this point,” Olivia and Tessa said.

The sisters are promising their customers that the new shop will have the same kind of feel with the same yummy food, just in a smaller front-of-house location. In addition to quick food items, they will also be doing catering out of Naked Cafe Express.

They are working to get Naked Cafe Express up and running as quickly as possible, and have been painting, getting the flooring in, and are having their bar built by a local company. To make things sweeter, they say there is free parking outside the new shop, so you can pull over and pick up you’re vegan eats with ease.

Along with making it easier for their customers to pick up paninis, sandwiches, muffins, and cookies, they plan on continuing their efforts to bring vegan lunches to school children in the area.

With the help of their kitchen manager, Matthew Kolehmainen, who has been an integral part of their growth, the new location will help them ramp up their program.

“The only obstacle that was holding us back from doing more was that we don’t have very much space downtown,” they said. “It’s always been something we’ve wanted to do since day one so we’re so ecstatic to be able to offer that to so many adorable little vegan guests at the cafe.”

Right now, they say they are planning to have the shop operational by Mar. 15, 2018, and are fairly optimistic, but it will open by April 1, 2018, at the latest.

Stay tuned for their grand opening in a few weeks time!
