We want to show our friends, neighbours, family and colleagues that we notice them and the fabulous things that they do.

What is your name?
Courtney Scott.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I was born and raised in Kelowna.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would go somewhere warm and secluded with my love, Brian. No cellphones, just quiet relaxation.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
I have a few favourite local stores in Kelowna, one of them is Raw 69.

What is your favourite activity?
I must say it's a close tie between eating and sleeping.

If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
I love all three!

What is a hidden gem you enjoy in the Okanagan?
The Curious Cafe for breakfast!

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
That story happened in Mexico and it stays there...

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Not sure I can pin-point one specific moment of inspiration.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Fishing trips with my dad. My little sister and I would always pick wildflowers on the way home for my mom.

Where do you volunteer, or give back to in the community?
I help out with the Food Bank and Salvation Army.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I think the world runs the way it's meant too, regardless of the good and bad.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Hiking Knox Mountain in the summer.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I would sneak away to the lake.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
More opportunities for the homeless to better themselves.

If you were granted one wish for work or in life, what would it be?
One wish for both work and life is to be successful, whatever that means.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I am quite introverted, despite how social my job and life are.

What is the name of your business/organization?
The Beauty and Shave Parlor.

What does your business do?
Our bussiness caters to men and women. Barbering, straight blade shaves, cuts and colouring. We offer a fun, but chill, environment, leaving you feeling your best!

Why did you get into/start this business?
I have had a love for hair since I was young. I was always playing with, or cutting, the hair of my dolls and Barbies. I decided the only way that I would grow more as a person, and with my career, would be to open my own salon.

What is the goal of your business?
The goal for my business is to create an atmosphere that my staff, clients and myself love coming too. To create great hair and continuously learn.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
In life, consistency.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Everything fell into place just as it should. Probably could have changed a few things but am very happy with the outcome so far!

Why do you think it is important to shop local?
To keep support within our community. Give back to who supports you.

Give someone that you think deserves it a shout out and explain why
Vince Parsons from Narrow Waters Tattoo Shop.

My nomination for the In Focus spotlight is:
I nominate Luke Cockwell from Restore massage therapist corporation.
