Meet Alexandra Perras and Amelia (Mimi) Moylan! Alexandra and Amelia have been living here in Kelowna for ten years now. They enjoy discovering new places to hike, practising yoga with their fellow yogis in the community and savouring the simple things in life.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?

Alberta and Ontario 4 and 10 years!

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Our yogi/hike followers! Everyone who has ever joined us makes getting out of bed early and hiking to summits across the Okanagan so fulfilling. So much gratitude for this community and the place we can call home.

Describe yourself in one word.
Adventurous

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Sayulita. It is where we are hosting our second Hike Yoga N Surf experience!

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Hiking.. why not add yoga!

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?

Getting lost when finding new locations. 1 hour turning into 6... yikes!

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
I suppose meeting each other. If we hadn't come together on this crazy collective we would have not gotten to where we are today. A lot of learning as we grow through our mistakes, but that's life! We are inspired through one another's creativity and also through the many people we have met so far.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Amelia (Mimi) - I would have to say growing up at our summer family camp. It is in northern Ontario called Hornepayne. No hydro. Just you in nature learning and exploring.
Alex - Mine is going to visit my grandparents in Oyama.  Always being out on the water and exploring this place I now call home.
Probably why we love nature so much!

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
We believe we help our community through our practice. Through what we offer. Community is everything. If we don't help each other where would we be in life? It's about support and helping when you can, in any way you can.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Plastic

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?

Forest

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
More culture and art. We both have artistic backgrounds and it would be very neat to see more art around Kelowna!

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The people

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Offer more destination experiences so more people can join.
2. Find new hiking spots. (Dont think that will be a issue)
3. Reach out to more people about what we are offering.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
They know. #wevibehigher

The Amplified Collective

Why did you get into/start this business?
3.5 years ago

What is the goal of your business?
To be real with everyone.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Time.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?

We would never change a thing. Only grow from what we now know!

What do you always find yourself saying?
"Dude."

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
"Slow down. Enjoy the small things in life. Sun on your face. Wind in your hair. The smell of the ocean! "

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Less carbon footprint.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Starting The Amplified Collective

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!

Kris and Kia at Ponderosa Arts and Music Festival. They are wonderful humans that we have both worked with. Sadly, they had to end the festival due to too many forest fires over the years but dang they know how to put on a Festival!

Some general comments I would like to share are:
