Meet Carla. Carla is originally from Prince George and has been living here in Kelowna for 25 years! She enjoys mountain biking on the many scenic trails here in the Okanagan and spending some quality time with her daughter, Emma.


Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I grew up in Prince George, BC and have been in Kelowna since 1994.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite person to spend time with is my daughter Emma. She is funny, smart, beautiful and all around a lovely young lady. We always have a lot of fun together.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
My favourite local store in Kelowna is Mosaic Books, I always love buying new books.

Describe yourself in one word.
Funny! Laughing is my favourite thing to do and I always love to see people laugh and smile.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would go to Italy. I have always wanted to travel to Italy. I love the language, food and the beauty of it all.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
My favourite activity is definitely mountain biking or swimming in the lake.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
When I fell in the McDonald's parking lot in the winter and my coffee and food went flying in the air and I bailed hard.


What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The most inspiring thing that has happened to me was the opportunity to be part of the Community Futures Self Employment program. It gave me the skills to be self-employed and do what I love which is working with people.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My favourite childhood memory would be summer trips to Saskatchewan to spend time with my grandparents. This is where I learned how to cook, golf, and play a mean game of cribbage.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I was involved with the Kelowna Women's Shelter and volunteered for the children's Xmas parties annually. It was very heartwarming.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I would want the whole world to never be hungry.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Beach access on Abbott street by Strathcona beach, it has a willow tree and is my most peaceful place to be.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I would like to see more services offered for children and youth with mental health barriers so they feel safe.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The weather, The wine, and all the great hiking trails, beaches and parks.


What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to Italy
Drive a race car in Vegas
Start a charitable foundation for children to learn music who have talent but are not financially able to.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I am a Pizza monster (can't get enough of it.)

Why did you get into/start this business?

What is the goal of your business?
To provide first class professional concierge services to all of my clients. I want to give them back the gift of time so they can spend more time with their families, loved ones or themselves.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
My biggest life struggle was being a single mom and juggling many jobs to ensure a comfortable life for my daughter and me.


If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do everything the same. All my life lessons have made me who I am today and that is what drives me to be successful in everything I do.

What do you always find yourself saying?
"Dress for success."

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
"Be the best you can be every day, failure is not an option and don't forget to smile."

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Betty White, she is super funny, inspires me to grow old gracefully, and rocking it for 97 years old.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It supports our economy and helps all the new entrepreneurs in our community

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Completing the Business Plan Development Program through Community Futures.

My boyfriend, Scott. He is the most loving, supportive man I know.
