What is your name?
Dr. Praven Chetty.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I am from an east coast city called Durban in South Africa and moved to Kelowna in 2012.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite people are definitely my two beautiful daughters who are always teaching me something new everyday.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Durban, South Africa to visit my folks.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Lights on Banks. Sue and her staff are fantastic at personalized customer care.

What is your favourite activity?
Making breakfast for my kids and enjoying the early morning skies with them.

If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
A Dagwood burger. It takes me back to fond memories with my dad.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I can't remember the feeling of embarrassment but I tend to soak up the occasion and have a laugh.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Experiencing the home birth of my daughters.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Going to the local drive-in cinema with my parents and siblings and watching Thursday night movies under the stars.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
Cancer has either affected lots of us either directly or indirectly and I do my small part by supporting the BC Cancer Foundation's research efforts to help cure cancer.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Access to education for all the citizens of the world.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Watching the sunset on our beautiful lake.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
My office, where my floor to ceiling windows are dressed by an avenue of colourful trees.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Increased job opportunities and industry for our locals.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Our beautiful natural landscape that overlooks our magnificent lake.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Skydiving.
2. Driving a Formula 1 car around Silverstone or Monza.
3. Travel to space.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Cerulean Medical Institute.

Why did you get into/start this business?
To inspire change through advanced medical solutions.

What is the goal of your business?
The goal of our Skin Care Clinic is to positively influence the health and wellness of our patients by educating and empowering them through customized treatment solutions whilst using leading edge technology.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
I love making the most of every second of my day, but sometimes there are not enough hours in the day to balance work and family life.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Do things the same. Always looking forward.

What do you always find yourself saying?
'We will make a plan.'
I love problem solving and there are always alternative solutions to fix or remedy a problem or disorder.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My 80 year old grandmother.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It's great to support local business and watch them grow within the community.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My two daughters and watching them grow up.

My wife Isabel, for putting up with all my time spent away from home during the build of our Skin Care Clinic.
