Meet Jenner Simpatico. She's a native Kelownian, born and raised.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Myself! Contraty to popular belief, I am an introvert.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Alchemy. I love their eclectic selection of home decor and neat little gifts.

Describe yourself in one word.
Dancing-machine.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Galapagos Islands. I've been craving an adventure lately.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Strolling down Abbott with my family.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
It would be impossible for me to narrow them down to just one.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Coming to an understanding that I get to creative my own life.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Our family trips to Egmont every summer.

Where do you volunteer or give back in the community?
I've always felt that everyone I walk by deserves eye contact and a smile. Kelowna gets a bad rap for being snobby and I like to challenge that. I think everyone deserves to feel welcome.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
That sex trafficking and sexual abuse didn't exist.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time along?
Anywhere with a view of the lake.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I'd love to hear some pro active conversations on steps we can take to keep our lake clean for the near and distant future. I feel like it's a subject nobody really talks about but I imagine the lake must be feeling the effects of Kelowna's rapid growth.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Big White, the lake, the seasons, vineyards, orchards, and one of a kind local businesses.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. To travel to a new city at least one a year
2. Learn to scuba dive
3. Start a band

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I suffer from trypophobia.

How do people connect with you through social media?
Facebook and Instagram.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Petal & Vow Floral Design.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I needed a change and wanted to be my own boss. I also really missed working with my hands and the creative outlet that floral design offered. While on maternal leave I decided to start Petal & Vow, which I kept as a side business until 2015. That fall I made the jump into full time entrepreneurship and never looked back!

What is the goal of your business?
Curated floral designs that move people.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
By biggest struggle is organization. But, I did recently purchase a yearly planner for 2018. So I'll continue to struggle with that until January 1st.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I'd have to say the same. I'm in a really great place so I'd have to say all those good and bad decisions have lead me here!

What do you always find yourself saying?
Inappropriate words.

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Trust. Your. Gut.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Kerwin Rae.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because big box stores are ugly.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
This life that my husband and I have worked so hard to create.
