Meet Jennifer! She radiates positivity, and loves the Okanagan and everything this city has to offer! 



Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?    
I am from Ontario and have lived in Kelowna for 25 years.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with?
I have several :)  My husband and family and my close friends

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Del Lago because they have so many beautiful and original designs

Describe yourself in one word.
Effervescent

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Oman

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Open water swimming of course :) 

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Oh my gosh, I was walking to the departures corridor at the YVR International airport with the back of my skirt tucked into my panty hose.  I was mortified.  A young man walked up to me and said " You have something wrong behind you."

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
My 2 children Vanessa and Zachary inspire me every day.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Going on summer vacation in the Muskoka District.  Lots of beach time and swimming in the lake.



Where do you volunteer or give back in the community?
I volunteer with the Across the Lake Swim Society and I do some volunteer work for CMHA.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I would want to spare anyone suffering from a mental illness who has no  personal or medical support.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I swim in some secluded areas all around the Okanagan

Where would you like to see a positive change in Kelowna and why?
More youth-led positive change projects, improvements to bike lanes, low-income housing, helping the homeless, create more awareness to social and environmental issues working together for common goals in Kelowna,  allowance for freedom of expression,  celebrating community champions and community heritage, a greater appreciation for diversity.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
I think the lakes, mountains,  parks and people who love living here make Kelowna great.  

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Sky diving, humanitarian work in a 3rd world country, starting a foundation to empower young and mature women.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
250 I swam the Georgia Strait (35k)  with a female relay team and swam from Kelowna to Penticton  (55k) with another relay team.  Epic Adventures.  I also got married on an airplane.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Jennifer Grant International

Why did you get into/start this business?
I was not ready to retire so when I turned 60 I became an entpreneur.  I am very passionate about what I do.

What is the goal of your business?
I help business leaders to enhance their image, grow their personal brand, surpass their competition, improve their profits and achieve greater success.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Asking for help.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would have started my business 10 years earlier.

What do you always find yourself saying?
I've got this!



Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Don't ever give up.  Learn from your mistakes.  Support yourself with people who care about you.  Make time for self care.  Find a secret sanctuary.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
I love the thrifting experience and I feel it is important for us to support small businesses and the local economy by shopping locally.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My family and my business

I want to give a shout out to Simone Blais. We work together on projects for Jennifer Grant International.  She is brilliant, kind and amazing to work with.
