Meet Kristopher Mazey. He grew up in Langley, and has lived in Kelowna since attending post-secondary at UBCO in 2010.  

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My partner Phil. He is my best friend and the person I wish to share all my life experiences with.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Bliss Bakery, they make a great Americano.

Describe yourself in one word.
Busy.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
The Maldives. The region is so unique, but sadly might no longer exist within my lifetime.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Wakesurfing on Okanagan Lake.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Showing up to a friend’s birthday party, a week early.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Being told that I was the person someone else looks up-to. Totally gave me a new perspective for continuing to work hard and be kind to others.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Camping trips with my family.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
Central Okanagan Kelowna Food Bank.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
To educate the world on better nutritional habits.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Climb Knox Mountain.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Making downtown and residential nodes of Kelowna more community and pedestrian focused.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Summer! I live in Kelowna for boating days and spending time at the beach.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Visit every continent
2. Learn Spanish
3. Become a great golfer

I am a car fanatic.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Argus Properties Ltd.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I’ve always had a passion for real estate and urban design; working at Argus I am elated to be surrounded by all areas of construction, development, and working with clients.

What is the goal of your business?
Develop and lease commercial properties to retail, warehousing and office space clients.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Finding the balance of time, when to put in a couple more hours and when it can wait until tomorrow.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do it all the same, no regrets.

What do you always find yourself saying?
'100%'

Tell us your best piece of life advice
Defining how we reflect on our own life. Only looking forward do we have the ability to plan and potentially change outcomes. No sense wasting time worrying about what has happened in the past, which we have no control over.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Richard Branson.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
In order to continue the growth of Kelowna’s economy we must become more self-sufficient.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Building a career in the commercial development industry.

Carla Bond-Fisher, owner of Sticks and Stones Design Group, she a pleasure to be around and the projects she accomplishes are simply next level.
