Meet Marcus. He has lived in Kelowna for seven years. Marcus is a passionate photographer and enjoys taking pictures of landscapes and nature. When he isn't working hard on his photography business and taking cool captures, you can find him producing music or volunteering at the pharmacy at the Shoppers Drug Mart in downtown Kelowna.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
Born and raised in Calgary, AB. Been living in Kelowna for 7 years now.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My younger brother Corbin, we share so much in common and he made the move out with me to Kelowna.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Habitat, it's not a store but definitely my favourite place to go in Kelowna. The music and the people are what keep bringing me back.

Describe yourself in one word.
Innovative.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I've dreamed of skiing the alps alongside the Matterhorn.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Frisbee Golf.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Having insufficient funds to buy a chocolate bar.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Being accepted to university here in Kelowna. That was the reason I made the move and without that I don't know what I would be doing at this moment.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Playing ice hockey everyday after school with friends. I grew up walking distance to an outdoor hockey rink, we would stay out there all night, or until they shut the lights off.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I volunteer at the downtown Shoppers Drug Mart, working in the pharmacy. I help with filling prescriptions and answering any sort of questions people have regarding medicine.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
The amount of garbage/plastic that gets thrown away.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I have two spots, one on Knox Mountain and another in Mckinley Landing.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I think Kelowna could benefit from less crime. I love this city but the theft has gotten so bad here.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The mountains and the outdoor lifestyle.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Heliskiing, scuba diving, travel the world.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I am a DJ and music producer.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Marcus Voloshin Photography.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I've always had a love for photography, what really sparked it though was seeing light painting for the first time in Tofino. I got my first DSLR camera a few weeks later. I knew right away this was something I loved.

What is the goal of your business?
I would like to have an online store and sell prints and canvas.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Pushing myself to do something new, I have always underestimated myself.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
If I could start all over I would of went to school for photography instead of biochemistry.

What do you always find yourself saying?
Right on.

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Just do it.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
