Meet Michael! Michael is originally from Regina, Saskatchewan and has been living here in Kelowna with his family for ten years. When he's not in the studio, he enjoys boating & fishing out on the lake and spending some quality time with his dog, Bella.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
Born in Regina, but I've lived in Kelowna for 10 years.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
While not legally a person, I would say my dog, Bella

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
I like Trout Waters, the staff is knowledgeable and assist me in my angling pursuits.

Describe yourself in one word.
Affable.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?

While technically two answers, I'd say a day on the lake, boating and fishing.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Years ago, I once drove 14 hours to a musical competition and spent the entire 5-minute allotted time trying to tune an extremely out of tune guitar in front of a thoroughly bewildered audience and judge panel. I did not win that competition.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
I've been lucky enough to write and perform my original music in Nashville and across Canada with some of the highest decorated songwriters in country music. Watching and, in turn, learning from their processes has been an incredible honour and inspiration.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I like to sing old country songs at retirement homes when I can.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I like to head onto the lake in the summer in the early evening or morning when few boats are out.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
We moved to Kelowna for the same reason I think many people do: the mild climate and relaxed, community-based culture.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I love to cook and am always looking for interesting new things to try.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
You can follow me on Instagram: @OfficialMichaelDaniels

What is the name of your business/organization?
Michael Daniels Music.

Why did you get into/start this business?

I first started playing and writing music professionally 4 years ago when I was in university.

What is the goal of your business?
To make and perform music.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I have no large regrets so far, but had I known what I know now when I first started, I would have started networking much earlier within the country music industry and gotten more involved earlier on.

What do you always find yourself saying?
"Where did I put my wallet? Has anyone seen my wallet?"

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Supporting local business improves the regional economy, strengthens relationships within the community and helps preserve the culture and uniqueness of your town.

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!

My mom, Chelsey, for all the hard work she's put in along the way in making my career a success!
