Meet Mona. Mona is originally from Hong Kong and has been living here in the beautiful Okanagan for 18 years! She enjoys hiking the many scenic trails Kelowna has to offer and going on new adventures with her husband. 


Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?

I am from Hong Kong and I've lived in Kelowna for the past 18 years!

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I love to spend time with my husband. We love to adventure together!

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Bean Scene! Their espresso is addicting!

Describe yourself in one word.
Caring.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would love to go to Denmark! They have the most advanced medical science-based, reflexology expert!

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Hiking on different trails and walking along the beaches.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
The most embarrassing thing that has happened to me was when I got hugged by a stranger who had mistaken me as her friend (my sister...haha) Awkward!!!!


What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
My Dad! He has endlessly supported me to pursue my life and dream!

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
When I was still little, my parents would take me on the ferry across Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The smell of the ocean, the people, and the Harbour view...it was all so fun and my favourite childhood memory!

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I love to help out in small non-profit organizations!

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
No sickness.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Bean Scene Patio

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I would love to see Kelowna become a more cyclist-friendly city! We have great summer views and it will be fantastic if we had more bike lanes on the roads!

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Okanagan Lake.


What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Have a clean, organic medical skin care line to help people who struggle with skin problems (working on it already..lol)
2. Spend a month in Europe
3. Create a non-profit organization to help people who suffer from anxiety.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I speak Chinglish (half Chinese half English) at home.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Reflexcare-Reflexology Clinic

Why did you get into/start this business?
I found that reflexology is such a non-invasive way to help people get their health back.

What is the goal of your business?
To help my patients with their journeys, one at a time, to find hope and healing.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Food is always my biggest struggle! I love food so much!


If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Absolutely the Same!

What do you always find yourself saying?
Life is interesting!

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
"If you have a dream, go for it so you have nothing to regret in life! Even if you fail, at least you tried!"

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Yo Yo Ma, the best Cellist in the world!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It helps our community grow.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I never count my accomplishments, I always focus on what my next goal is! This will keep me from being too proud!

My husband! He is my rock of support!
