Meet Tanya! Tanya is originally from St. Albert, Alberta! She has called Kelowna home for 8 years and enjoys spending time with her kids Jessie and Jake!


Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?

St.Albert, But I’ve lived here for 8 years

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My children, Jessie & Jake

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Hardcore Archery-Archery is a skill that develops focus, patience and self-awareness. It’s also a lot of fun and the staff are extremely knowledgeable.

Describe yourself in one word.
Dedicated

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Anywhere with my siblings and all of our kids! I love spending time with them all and watching the 10 little cousins have a blast creating memories together!

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Wake Surfing and Skiing

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Having a very classy lady watch me scrub dried dark chocolate off my hands in a public washroom. She looked appalled-haha


What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The most inspiring thing that has ever happened to me is having my two children; Jessie & Jake. They are so full of Joy and wonder and I love seeing life through their eyes. Every day I strive to push harder and set the bar higher for myself because of them.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Tubing on the lake with my Best friend Kelsey; screaming and laughing and having the time of our lives.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I support a number of organizations with my time and/or product. Most recently I’ve supported the Red Dress Gala benefiting the Heart & Stroke foundation that happens on Oct 21 at the Manteo Resort. I also recently sponsored Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley’s Harvest Dinner with product and silent auction items from my store in Abbotsford and have heard it was a beautiful success. I love opportunities to give back to the community.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Childhood illness

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
One of our beautiful hiking trails

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Advocation for vulnerable children and more support for those who protect them.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Our people, scenery, and culinary options!


What are 3 things on your bucket list?

1. Live on a Catamaran
2. Travel with no itinerary
3. Go back to school for my Masters

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I love SCUBA diving and deep sea fishing

Olivia’s Oils & Vinegars, Rocky Mountain Chocolate-Kelowna

Why did you get into/start this business?
I love cooking and making chocolates & confections

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Local businesses continue to give back in the community

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My two kids!

My store manager, Virginia Svetlikov. She keeps me organized, is a wealth of knowledge and our customers adore her.
