Five things you need to know

1. Stephen Colbert interviews Anthony ‘The Mooch’ Scaramucci

One of the more anticipated late night interviews of the year went down on Monday night. Anthony Scaramucci, aka The Mooch, was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he answered questions about his short time in the White House, his thoughts on Donald Trump, what he’d do with Steve Bannon and much more.

2. Phil Kessel puts hot dogs in the Stanley Cup

It was the moment that every hockey fan was waiting for, even if they didn’t realize it. Pittsburgh Penguins winger, Phil Kessel, gave the people what they wanted on Monday by putting hot dogs in the Stanley Cup. Kessel loving hot dogs has been an ongoing joke since Toronto writer, Steve Simmons, wrote that he visited a downtown hot dog stand on the daily when he played for the Maple Leafs.

3. Taylor Swift wins lawsuit against radio host

It was a big victory for Taylor Swift on Monday, but not money wise. The singer won her lawsuit against radio DJ David Mueller for a grand total of $1. Swift said she didn’t file the lawsuit for the money, but instead as an “example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”

4. Steve Bannon could be out of the White House by the end of the week

The Mooch might get his wish. Reports from CBS and The New York Times claim that Chief White House Strategist Steve Bannon’s job has never been in more jeopardy and that the 63-year-old could be on the outs by the end of the week.

5. Pantone names a colour after Prince

There’s a new purple in town and it’s paying tribute to one of the great musicians of all time. The Prince Estate announced on Monday that Pantone’s newest color, called Love Symbol #2, is inspired by the late musician’s custom-made Yamaha piano. Prince passed away in April of 2016.
