Trump has a red button on his desk, but it doesn't do what you think

We’ve all seen it in cartoons or movies.

The person in power pushes the big red button on his desk, leading to a bomb being launched, a trap door being opened or the hounds being released.

For the 45th president of the United States of America, however, that red button does something entirely different.

If Donald Trump presses the red button on his desk in the Oval Office, a White House butler will quickly arrive with an ice cold glass of coke.

This presidential perk was reported by the Associated Press’ Julie Pace, who just interviewed Trump after his first 100 days in office.

The news has left people wondering what the red button did for Obama, Clinton, either Bush or any of America’s previous presidents.

Did it summon a staff member to bring them their favourite drink, or did the button offer up something a little closer to the red button stereotypes we see in the movies?

We may never know, but we know we're quite jealous of how easy it is for Trump to get his favourite drink.
