Following the controversial religious neutrality law that Quebec passed yesterday, women on social media are tweeting selfies to show the unfairness of the legislation.
Bill 62 will prevent anyone wearing face coverings, like niqabs and burkas, from accessing public services like transit.
These critics of the new law have pointed out one winter time necessity that they say shows the unjustness of the ban.
Tagging #Bill62, women are tweeting scarf selfies, pointing out that they’ve always been allowed on the bus while wrapped in winter clothing in Quebec.
Hey Quebec, this was me on a bus last winter. #bill62 pic.twitter.com/FcC4s4Bwfw

Cold winter in Quebec, face covered. So I'm not allowed on a bus? Or because I'm white and blonde I'll be allowed? #Bill62 #shameonquebec pic.twitter.com/8TKcYXgBLE

Sporting my new rain shell. Good thing I don't want to access public services in Quebec. #Bill62. pic.twitter.com/QcVwZUgFdZ

Would this also be unacceptable under #Bill62 ? pic.twitter.com/kM6IFfJsQl

For #bill62, only one of these people will not be able to ride on a bus. How is this not a niqab ban? #quebecracism pic.twitter.com/KIEgTUrc2P
