Ladies and gentleman, Pat Sajak, Vanna White, and the worst Wheel of Fortune contestant in the history of the game show!

Julian, a freshman at the University of Indiana, was getting very close to winning big on several occasions on Friday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune -- but the contestant to his left, reaped all of the rewards.

First, Julian lost his chance to play for $1 million when, after all of the letters to the puzzle had been revealed, he mispronounced the answer “Mythological Hero Achilles.” In his solution, he pronounced Achilles as “A-chill-us.”

What followed were likely the longest three seconds of Julian’s life, dead air. The painful silence felt not only by members of the audience in attendance, but by the show hosts as well. Eventually Pat had to let Julian know that they could not accept his answer, and the next contestant, a student from Texas A & M, willingly swooped in and solved correctly.

Unfortunately, that was not Julian’s only blunder during the episode. He went on to nearly solve another puzzle, but (almost appropriately) guessed “on-the-spot dicespin” instead of “on-the-spot decision”. A feat that he is clearly incapable of executing intelligently, even when it’s worth much more than the cost of his entire tuition bill at the University of Indiana.
