Vancouver Police have arrested three men in connection with a series of thefts by fake police officers.
There have been 13 incidents reported to police since September 17 of men posing as police officers to scam money from tourists. The men would show tourists a fake badge, and an Asian man played along as a 'victim', encouraging people to hand over wallets and passports. After the fake officers had investigated the items and returned them, victims would realize that their money was missing.
All of these incidents took place in downtown Vancouver in various tourist destinations.
Police will be recommending charges of theft and impersonating a police officer against the three men.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Vancouver Police.
