Update: The highway opened again at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Original Story:

The Trans-Canada Highway is at standstill due to a vehicle incident.

DriveBC first reported the incident at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The highway is closed at Three Valley Gap in both directions for 41.7 km from Craigellachie to Revelstoke. Traffic has yet to move, though DriveBC estimated that single lane alternating traffic will open at around 3 p.m.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, crews were working in that area to fix downed hydro lines. An image also shows what looks to be an overturned truck.

Our very own Kelowna Chiefs sat in traffic for at least five hours by 2:30 p.m. Saturday, meaning that their Saturday game was cancelled.
