Another affordable fashion retailer is landing in North America heating up competition in the world of trendy clothing.

European retailer Primark announced on Wednesday it plans to open its first store across the pond in Boston, Massachusetts.

The company, owned by Associated British Foods plc (ABF), offers up to the minute fashion at value for money prices.

The retailer is already in nine countries in Western Europe and after extensive research it has decided to make the leap into the American market.

Primark plans to open the 70,000 sq ft store towards the end of 2015 and according to a press release negotiations are underway to open further stores in the north east.

There is already lots of competition in North America including Zara, H&M, Joe Fresh, Topshop and Forever 21.

There’s no word yet if the company is looking into the Canadian market, but like other discount retailers it’s only a matter of time before the company heads north of the border.
