'Corner Gas' Landmark Burns to the Ground

A local landmark in Saskatchewan which appeared on the television show Corner Gas has burned to the ground.

The blaze in town of Rouleau destroyed Spalding Orthopedic, which was the backdrop for the show’s “Foo Mart.” The Show’s fan page Dog River Days posted photos of the fire on its Twitter and Facebook accounts on Sunday evening.

The television show Corner Gas was created by and starred Brent Butt and ran for six seasons on CTV. The show was an important tourist draw for the town of just over 450 people, as fans flocked to Rouleau to see the television sets.
