This hike is located in Sicamous. If you are heading out from Kelowna, travel along Highway 97 into Sicamous. Turn right to follow onto Highway 97A. Make your first left onto Sicamous Solsqua Road. Cross over a bridge and the train tracks, then turn right to continue on Sicamous Solsqua Road. Next, turn left onto #1800 Forest Service Road. Follow along the well-traveled logging road for just over 6 km and turn left onto #300-1800 Forest Service Road. The Sicamous Lookout is 1.5 km up this road. Because the lookout is located along side of the logging road, there is not a lot of room for parking. There is an overgrown gravel parking lot on the left roughly 500 m before the lookout and a good turn around spot about 500 m past the lookout. There is active logging in this area so please be cautious of logging trucks.

To go along with last week’s location of Sicamous Creek, a drive up to the Sicamous Lookout can fill up the day and make for an awesome mini-adventure/road trip. To get to the lookout it is more of a drive than an actual hike.
By taking advantage of a well-traveled logging road, just about anybody can enjoy the stunning view with very little effort. The wooden platform offers exceptionally amazing views of the town of Sicamous, Mara Lake and the Shuswap Lake.
The Sicamous Lookout is actually a platform used for hang-gliding. The platform was rebuilt in 2011 by volunteers for the Sicamous Hang Gliding Reunion.
Please respect this area and leave it in better condition than when you arrived!
