People around the world are about to become a whole lot cooler in summer as the Coolest becomes the most funded Kickstarter project ever.

This incredible cooler seeks to redesign coolers for the first time in decades, with a built-in blender, waterproof bluetooth speaker, and USB charger. In his Kickstarter video, creator Ryan Grepper says, “Boring coolers are boring, break easily, and are a pain to get to and from your destination. I wanted a cooler that was really well-built, yet had so much fun built into it that I would look for excuses to get outside and enjoy it.

This “portable party disguised as a cooler” had a goal of $50,000 for its Kickstarter campaign, but when campaign ended Saturday, there was $13,285,226 pledged. If backers pledged $185 or more, they would receive their own Coolest for $115 less than the retail price of $299.

With 43 days still to go, Grepper was overwhelmed by the response. “There’s just not a single word powerful enough to express my feelings after this last week, but if ‘grateful' was combined with ‘overjoyed' and then multiplied by ‘committed', that would be a start.”

The Coolest team is continuing to improve their design to make their cooler even better, and the coolers are scheduled to begin shipping in January and February.
